Frequently Asked Original Himalayan Crystal Salt Inhaler Questions and Answers
Q: How do I use the Inhaler?
A: Simply inhale through the mouth and exhale through the nose for 15-20 minutes a day.
Q: Do I need to add water to my Inhaler?
A: No. The inhaler is not a steamer. It is a dry Salt-Air Inhaler. Do not add water.
Q: How does the Salt-Air Inhaler work?
A:Since the negative effects of air pollution and electro-smog seem to be completely inescapable, it’s only practical that we explore ways to take care of our respiratory system, just as we do with our skin, hair, etc. Major respiratory disorders, giving way to diseases such as asthma, allergies, and bronchitis, are all associated with pollution, especially prevalent in industrial countries.
The Salt-Air Inhaler (Salt Pipe™) is a convenient, drug-free and non-invasive device for enjoying the benefits of salt-air therapy. Frequent inhalation of the microscopic salt crystals through the salt pipe, can clean, relax, and revitalize the entire respiratory system.
Salt-Air Can be Very Helpful For Respiratory Problems Caused by:
Q: There are cracks in the bottom of my Inhaler, is this dangerous?
A: Sometimes small hairline cracks can occur during the firing process as you have seen, however our QA process ensures any ceramic particles are removed as we use blasts of air over 10 times what the human body is capable off. For this matter nothing can be inhaled from these crack you notice.
Q: Can I stop using my medical inhaler for asthma if I use the Salt-Air Inhaler?
A: By no means should you stop using a medical inhaler without your physician’s approval. We have seen asthma patients need to use their conventional inhaler less over time as they use the Salt-Air Inhaler, but you should always have your conventional inhaler available in case of emergencies.
Q: I have COPD. Will the Inhaler help me?
A: The inhaler supports lung health and thus can help people with COPD. When salt lines mucus membranes it reduces the buildup of mucus and thins it out, which can help reduce congestion in the lungs. In addition people with COPD are more susceptible to conditions like bronchitis and bacteria, fungus and molds in the lungs. Using the inhaler creates a salt environment reducing that susceptibility. Thus the inhaler doesn’t impact COPD directly, rather supports lung health and so should be used as a complementary treatment to your medication; always make sure to work with your doctor to develop a protocol that is right for you.*
Q: Will the Salt-Air Inhaler raise my blood pressure?
A: To date all of our research and our doctors experience with patients who have high blood pressure using our Inhaler is that it has not impacted it. However every person is different and sometimes people can be on various medications that can all impact their experience. Therefore we recommend you monitor your own personal experience and work with your doctor. As an aside Original Himalayan Crystal Salt works differently in the body than standard table salt due to the 84 trace minerals, the structure and small particle size making it much easier for the body to absorb. In addition the amount of salt that they would inhale is microscopic - meaning you might be lucky to inhale a few mg compared to the RDA of 3500mg per day. Q: Are there any additives in the Salt-Air Inhaler?
A: No. The only ingredients to the Salt-Air Inhaler include the 100% Natural Coarse Granulated Himalayan Crystal Salt in a ceramic salt pipe.
Q: How long does the coarse salt last or work in the inhaler?
A: We recommend to change it about every 18 months.
Q: What quantity of salt crystals are typically used in the inhaler?
A: It is 200 grams which is 7 ounces or just under 1/2 pound
Q: Is the Salt Inhaler itself 100% lead-free? Is the glaze/paint 100% lead-free?
A: Nothing that comes from the soil is lead-free. So all the food you eat that was grown in soil has microscopic amounts of lead and since ceramic is in part made from the soil it potentially has some lead in there too.
Something to be aware of is that glazes often used to be made (like paints) with lead deliberately. We don't use those glazes where they add lead and don't use decals with lead as per the statement.
We can not say the product is 100% lead-free because we use soil in the making of the ceramic and soil can have trace amounts of lead. What you may have heard of is how people can add lead to ceramics like they used to with paint. We do not do that.
Q: How to clean the Salt Inhaler?
A: The Salt Inhaler can be washed with boiling hot water and then let it fully dry. Maybe even use a hair dryer to ensure the inside is completely dry before adding new salt.
